Yellow Rose and Glass

This is an imagined rose in my imagined glass sugar bowl. I say "imagined" because I wanted to do a yellow rose (one of my favorite subjects) but didn't have one on hand. And I wanted to put it in my glass sugar bowl, but wanted to modify the bowl and make it taller. So here is the result: cropped, actually, because the uncropped version has an opening bud higher up. (You can see it on my ebay gallery if your search ebay for seller "susankennedy"). There is something so poignant about watercolor, I have been dying to get back to this medium. Have been suffocating in oils, why is that?! Anyway, hope you have enjoyed this one, I'll have a mini e-book (is that an e-chapter/) on my lulu.com store, showing the steps of painting this little watercolor. Have a wonderful and arty day!
