Imaginary Blooms

A warm up from the other day: I can't decide if this is a rhododendron or a peach blossom or what, but I was trying to get my watercolor chops back. Feels so good to paint almost the whole thing with a 1" flat and just three colors. I might have my students work on a watery floral like this, I'm starting up with some watercolor workshops in the Atlanta area at The Etiquette School in Cumming. Come paint with me! If you're a watercolor lover, you really have to try Arches 300 lb. all rag paper, cold press, if you haven't yet. Many of you may be nodding your heads....it is the Cadillac of all papers, so delicate but scrubbable, so willing to let the colors lie on top of one another transparently. Wow! Thanks for looking! Check me out at www.susankennedy.com to see more about my art, my instructional workshops, e-books and videos, or just to see what inspires a fellow artist. Thanks for looking!
