The Silver Forest Trail

This trail is named for the many trees that parished in a fire a long time ago. The hike is a favorite guided tour by volunteers to the park. I will have to take the tour sometime to learn the actual history, but today we ventured out on our own. The old bleached trees are scattered everywhere on this slope creating majestic markers in the cemetery of an old sub-alpine forest. Mother Nature takes care of her own and the newer trees are strong and healthy...ready for the hardships of another winter. We will have to return in mid-summer to see the flowers...it must have been beautiful as the evidence of them going to seed is everywhere.
