chemicalfarmer

This is an Acrylic on canvas. There is an idea behind this image. I wanted to show the crop tender who survives by growing opium as it is the only way to survive in some areas of the world. I deliberately changed the crop to what it becomes by the time it reaches the western world and has gone through greedy hands that leave us with so many lives destroyed, the hypodermics surrounding the farmer are filled with the life/death blood of the addict whose unfortunate illness goes back to refuel the need for more chemical. There are many ways that one can read this painting, and feel free to disagree with what i am saying,my main idea is to present an image that confronts a part of this world that is so frightening.
