Been a long time since I have submitted anything so here is a good starter. This is Jordyn...a lovely hula dancer I met on my trip to Waikiki last July. She graciously modeled for me for paintings and this is the one I am working on now. This is the actual photo...and when I finish the painting...I will be sure to post it right away. She has been dancing hula for 13 years and she was just turning 18...so almost all her life. When I asked her if she would mind modeling for me....she was thrilled. To my great surprise...she said nobody had ever asked her to let them photograph her let alone paint her....I couldn't belive my ears....cuz to me....she is just amazing and I am so proud to be the first to paint her. We met on a Sunday when the beach was very crouded as the National Surfing Competition was going on as well as the National Hula Competition and when we got to the beach...we thought....WOW! How are we going to do this with so many people all around? But we did it and once we got started it was like the parting of the seas....everyone just kind of walked around us or stood and watched us and pretty much stayed out of our photos. So many of the pics we took....look like we are the only ones on the beach! It was an amazing eveninbg...all the way till it was too dark to take any more pics! I hope you enjoy her as much as I did.
