Flaming Geyser St. Park

My husband and I made this hike in the nearby state park a couple of weeks ago. We were doing the GPS for VisitRainier.com, so didn't have the time for photos. My BFF and I went back today to hike and photograph this beautiful place. It's located on the Green River in a narrow valley and contains some very nice trails along with fishing access, picnic areas and a very nice set-up for flying remote airplanes. Parts of this very large park are open to horseback riding. It is a popular takeout area for kayakers coming from the Green River Gorge and always full of innertubers in the summer. The forests are amazing with the moss dripping from everywhere, more noticable this time of year when the leaves on all the diciduous trees are gone and the underbrush hasn't taken over. It's a very busy place in the summer, so this is really my favorite time of year to visit. Today was a little foggy, but I think it adds to the mystique of this enchanting place.... :-)
