This is a commissioned drawing I did for a customer in Maryland. He wanted a portrait of himself and said if the project went well that he'd be interested in having me do some more things for him. This drawing is 8"x10". Since the drawing is so small I tried to keep it as clean as possible with my shading and linework. The sunglasses were pretty fun to do. This portrait was nice because I didn't have to worry about hair or eyes. Hair is still something that I dread even though I think I've definitely improved with it. I wanted to do something a little different to finish off the drawing so I tried to add a painterly style to it, which I hope the customer likes. A blending stump and powdered graphite was used to attain this look.
