Acrylic and impasto on oil painting paper.

I've had some wonderful AW artists and friends tell me that I am missed on AW. I just want to say thank you for letting me know that you have missed me. I have been working and studying very hard under a great art mentor who means the world to me.

This is the first painting I've completed in my new style which I have been working on and am still perfecting.

I was happy enough with the compositions and the placement of my new elements that I wanted to finish a piece but at first just with one subject, in this case, a horse.

The power, form, sense of movement and life is what I wanted to portray in this piece. The horse radiates a sense of defense against confrontation in this work. I feel he is defending me against harm and I love that about how this painting makes me feel.

The symbols and the war lines will be repeat symbols in my works from now on. After much art direction and following my own inspirations I have learned about myself and my art what these symbols mean. The 'jewels' as I call them, or shapes that you see are the jewels of life, lessons, experiences, people, emotions, the priceless gift of love and God's jewels of creation. The war lines will appear on or around my figures are a symbol of my inner warrior, my battle wounds that are beautiful for they are my lessons and the things that I have learned from.
