The official start to an eagerly anticipated hiking season....YES!!!!! This trail leads to Goat Falls, only half a mile from the trailhead. The water is spectacular here as the snowmelt is in full swing now. All the waterfalls and rivers are running swift in the mountains, the sounds are music to my ears. The distinctive smells of earth and trees are a refreshing delight. But the first thing you notice here are the numerous log cabins (some of them very old) along this creek for the first stretch. Then they disappear and you feel as tho you are deep in the wilderness. My soul rejoices........:-))))
