The Summit House

Most of this hike is in the thick forest, but occasionally you get a peak at the ski slopes on the other side of this huge bowl. At the top of the ridge sits the Summit House Restaurant. (You can see it using the zoom feature.) During the summer you can ride the chairlift up for a gourmet dinner on Friday and Saturday or brunch on Sunday...for a hefty price. The view of Mt. Rainier from the top is spectacular, but a little out of my price range. I can get a similar view from other places, just without the chairlift. I need the excersise anyway!! Tomorrow, Henskin Lake..... :-))
