The destination for the day....S. Mowich River Camp. This shelter is a must for those traveling the Wonderland Trail...96 miles AROUND Mt. Rainier. But we have used it on occasion for our day hike that ended up being in the rain. Twice it was a welcome site!! It has been there a long time and there is a lot of graffiti in it, some of it funny, some not to be repeated....mostly names and dates of visitors. There are campsites scattered around and a NEW outhouse since we were here last. The old one was really on it's last legs..... :-))
