South Fork of the Mowich River

Just beyond the Mowich Shelter is the larger fork of the Mowich River, originating from the Mowich Glacier. The flood plain is huge...as many of them are and often the foot bridges that cross them are washed away and have to be replaced. Glacier water is white when it is melting and we have had warm weather lately. The view from here is missing The Mountain, but impressive just the same. (It's hiding behind the mountain on the left.) The next place for shelter on this section of the Wonderland Trail is Golden Lakes....about 8 more miles away.
