Got problems saving your login information?

A few members have mentioned to us that their login information is not saving and when they try and vote it says that they are not logged in. If you have had this problem, this is the explanation and fix for it.

EXPLANATION OF 'COOKIES'
An Internet 'cookie' is a text file that a website saves on your computer to remember information about you as you move through their website or for the next visit to the site. Almost all websites use cookies in some way, mostly to save login information so you don't need to login on every page. Some people don't like the concept of Internet 'cookies', so you within your Internet browser there are different settings to control your tolerance of cookies. These range from accepting all cookies, rejecting all cookies, and everything in-between. A website can only set cookies for the website you are on and can not set a cookie for another website. Your cookie settings for Internet Explorer are found under TOOLS...INTERNET OPTIONS and clicking on the PRIVACY tab.

ARTWANTED COOKIES
For ArtWanted, we use cookies to remember your login information and thumbnail preferences. If you reject cookies, the site will not remember who you are or your login information and the website will think that you are not a member. When you login, a cookie is set with your ArtWanted member ID. This way, the website knows that you are a member of ArtWanted.com.

ArtWanted.com has 10 different galleries and each one has it's own website (i.e. anime.artwanted.com or photography.artwanted.com) - Even though they have the artwanted name in the url, they are viewed as different websites by your Internet browser. So normally if you login to http://www.artwanted.com, you will not automatically be logged in to http://photography.artwanted.com if you view this gallery. If you have your cookie settings to anything but 'accept all cookies' it will not log you in to both website. You will need to login to each gallery page that you visit to be remembered as a 'member'.

HOW TO FIX IT?
If are having login problems where the site is saying you are not a member, do one of the following:

• In your cookie settings (TOOLS...INTERNET OPTIONS and clicking on the PRIVACY tab) select 'accept all cookies'. After this, login to the website and it should log you on to all ArtWanted.com websites.
• For each visit to a new gallery, simply login again, and then it will remember you for that site. You will only need to login one time.
