About this painting: "Sequoia Hikers" This watercolor illustration was done from the artist's imagination and influence from many hikes to capture the stature of a 1500-year old Sequoia Semperviren. It's good to see some ancient redwoods still remain on private property. It shows dedication to California's living history, by owners not cashing in on harvesting these majestic giants. The preliminary pencil drawing for this painting was also released as a limited edition print series, shown on this preview page. "Emerald" is the Birthstone for the month of May. Mayflowers decorate the parasol that this lovely broken doll holds. A guardian Raven is perched on handle, he even has ball jointed legs. This pretty broken doll has dreadlocks and emerald colored jewels and accessories. She stands in front of bold trees and emerald colored sky.

'Goyder Lagoon' Acrylic 66cm x 91cm, This greenery is a part of the Diamantina River floodplain in an arid area of the state of South Australia near the Queensland border. It's the source of the (now) flooded Lake Eyre resembling an inland sea, normally a salt pan. The river divides into a myriad of channels across the floodplain and attracts a multitude of bird life in a frenetic dash to breed while the water (& fish) remain.
