Self Portrait

"The call of Africa is powerful, a place of contrasts, often stark, then gentle and serene: forbidding terrain bounded by empty spaces so great only the horizon sees an end, where a deep tranquillity will instil wonder in the artist's mind."-by Monty Brown

I come from Graz in Austria and developed my drawing and painting skills from a very young age. Parallel to a commercial education and career I attended art schools both at home and in Sweden. After living in Germany, CAR, Uganda, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya and Myanmar (Burma)I now reside in Scotland. I am versatile and confident with Oils, Pastels, Watercolour, Pencil and Charcoal. First-hand experiences of deep jungle, vast grasslands, open plains and bush savannah inspired me to extend my colour palette in an expressionistic style. The barren regions of the Kalahari and Namib deserts, in contrast to the lush green areas of the Okavango Delta, Zambezi River and source of the Nile assisted to produce my portfolio. My experience in Myanmar (Burma) and other parts of Asia will soon add another perspective to my portfolio.

In addition to Exhibitions in Europe and Africa my work was featured on Austrian and Hungarian Television networks and published in the International Pastel Artist Magazine. My paintings are in collections of HH The Aga Khan, the Saudi Royal households and were on display at the annual exhibition of the Society of Wildlife Artists in the Mall Galleries, London.

I am a member of the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, WWF's Panda Passport, the Worldwide Nature Artists Group, support ECOTERRA Intl. and The Rhino Ark Charitable Trust.
