I have painted off and on since I was a child.
I had many years when I didnt paint at all, and have resumed in the last 5 years. I started back to painting using digital means. I still love digital painting, but felt a need to have back that experience of real paint, and real pencils. I missed the smells, textures, and richness that is part of traditional painting. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to return to doing work in real media about a year ago. I dont think I could ever leave it...nor art again.
In addition to painting I do alot of what is generally called crafts. Knitting, and sewing, mosaics, paper crafts, and anything having to do with glitter. I feel this world is one mass produced heap of crud. Making things with my own hands, and in MY WAY, is how I combat what is, to me, a painful sameness in this world.
I do my work with acrylic, watercolor, ink, pencil, clay, fabric, yarn, paper, canvas, sequins, Photoshop, Painter, Wacom, airbrush, and lots of glitter.
I will use these things on canvas, paper, wood, furniture, walls, aprons, pillows, t-shirts, gloves, old boxes ( I am BIG on recycling what people call "trash" into usable art)
My newest venture is learning to use an airbrush...I'll get with you in about a year on the results of that.
