Shelley Tate Garner holds a background in fine art (BA, Studio Art Painting/Ceramics), graphic design (MFA, Graphic Design), and museums (MA, Museum Studies, Administration/Education). Currently, she is an actively practicing artist and designer, as well as an adjunct professor of visual arts at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Grayson College. Garner’s artistic practice is informed by a deep curiosity about how art can serve as both personal reflection and shared experience- a balance between the natural and the created landscape. Her works have been featured in galleries across the US and are held in private and corporate collections across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. She currently lives and works in Durant, OK, where she maintains a home studio and shows regionally.
