My name is Sierra Bailey, I am an artist and I make everything that is here at Manic Trout. I live in Millbrook, NY and try to keep myself from sleeping in my studio I enjoy working in there so much. I figure if I'm in there, I might as well keep myself occupied, and the result is the work you see on my web site.
I attended The School of Art and Design at Syracuse University and I stayed there as long as possible, earning a BFA in Computer Graphics with a minor in Painting and taking every art class I could possibly cram into my schedule.
My paintings are generally abstract expressionistic in style and strongly influenced by bodies of water. I work with oils, watercolor and mixed media and have great interest in the explorations of my mediums and color theory.
I spend most of my time painting, creating handmade jewelry and designing web pages. There are often many other mediums being explored at any given time. In the winter I have a weakness for embroidery and I love to photograph flowers in teh summer for example.
I am from a long line of artist and artisans...Being an artist is not something I chose, I am driven by some odd force to create constantly, so I am always finding new outlets for my imagination.
As a result there are usually many projects in an assortment of media that I get all wrapped up in and I always enjoy finding a new creative endeavor to while away the hours on.
