Steven Mills was born in Santa Monica, California and was raised in Southern California in the 50's, Hawaii in the 60's,eventually landing on the central coast of California in the mid-70's, after a tour in the navy, to my advantage my family always like to live by the ocean which has had a profound impact on the type of subjects that I like to paint, with coastal themes being the main focus in most of my paintings. The coast of California has a large variety of subject matter, from the magnificent coastline to the golden fields of summer.
