Artist Bio

In the two-and-a-half years that he has been creating artwork, Brandon has tried to bring his subjects to life through the use of both color and detail. This combination has won him many awards, including Best of Show in both the 2008 TN Junior Duck Stamp Design Contest and the 4th Congressional District of Tennessee Art Competition. His favored creative mediums include: oil paints, watercolor, and colored pencil. He also paints with oil pastels and acrylics, although his exposure to these mediums is limited. He credits most of his success to his high school art teacher who taught him the basics of drawing, watercolor, and oil and chalk pastels and his family for supporting him. He is completely self-taught in the use of oil paints - his favorite medium. Birds and flowers are his main subjects as these have the greatest variety of colors. He also paints landscapes, people, and still lifes. Brandon is a member of the Campbell County Artist Association. He just completed high school with four semesters of art study under his belt and with the honor of valedictorian. This fall, he will attend Lincoln Memorial University and begin working on a major in chemistry and a minor in art.
