Self Portrait

We are biomorphic-merely shells of existence, you may see some type of symbolism in my work but you really have to search for it. I guess you could use the analogy of a shell in the ocean as our our bodies, fragile to movement,to the waves of pain and suffering but joy as well--our spiritual bodies may leave eventually in death but the shell is in the earth as is the shell in the bottom of the sea. The forms of orbs and shells are a common theme or vehicle in my work, in that they encompass something solid but changeable. Humans are weird creatures, flawed, but open and seeking something in the void. I aspire to convey emotional depth using very basic colors and forms in my work-sculptural inquisitions into the vast turmoil of the universe.
