My heart has not changed in my desire to bring glory to God through my art, but my idea of how to do this is changing. I have noticed how difficult it can be to learn art with a pure heart. There has always been a lot of body worship happening in name of art. If you are a parent out there or young student looking for a guide in drawing practice, you might will want to follow my blog! I won't explode your email with unused information. I will be covering concepts of drawing that anyone can use and follow at any age! no nudes etc. Just step by step drawing practices shared weekly! If you are interested, be sure to click on the profile and follow Michelle. If you want to have this blog sent to your email, click contact and leave me your email address and the code word "pure drawing". Maybe you are wondering why a painter is offering drawing tips? Any one who paints generally sketches the picture first to avoid multiple mistakes. A drawing exercize will put you miles ahead!

Today is a day to review a painting I gave to someone. I would like to paint it again in oil. I love the quiet lake pictures that remind me so much of camping and fishing in the upper peninsula of Michigan! This painting reminds me of a chain of lakes. You can portage a canoe from one to the next. It's amazingly peaceful and quiet! If you want to know where this is at you can comment, and I will get back with you! Look in the waterscape category for....drum roll..... STILL WATER it includes a verse...Be still and know that I am God. I hope that just looking at it brings you peace!

My last story was about Lily Pool painting. Those pink lily pad flowers got me to thinking about Valentine's Day. I think it is a sweet time to let others know that they are special. It doesn't have to be about lovers necessarily. If you read the history though, of how a priest was burned at the stake for marrying his lover, it becomes a more important day! We Definitely can use a day to celebrate love.

With pink as my theme, I decided to practice my still life painting skills on a pink cone flower. You can view PINK CONE FLOWER in my portfolio.

I would like to know if people are interested in drawing with me. Contact me if you are interested!

For now, I wish you a Happy Valentine's Day weekend! May the God who created love be glorified with your relationships.

It's crazy how fast a week can zoom past! Happy Thursday everyone! My next story today is going to be about a painting that is sold! You can view it in the portfolio. It's called Lily Pool, and is an oil painting.

Have you ever looked closely at water lilies? Since childhood, I was always amazed that God took time to make a flower that only grows in water that is quite deep. Other plants would be over flooded and rotten, but the water lily is quite at home!

My love for greenery and flowers will, no doubt, shape my paintings. If you are a painter, go ahead and paint the things you love. As a result, you will have a great painting! Have a look at LILY POOL in the waterscape section! Please favor, like, or share it!

I don't think I need to mention the reason for small business discouragement this past year of 2020. So heralding the new year of 2021, I hope to start a new! Speaking of new... I have a new painting. I am endeavoring to tell the stories behind each painting old or new. The newest addition, is the FAMILY TREE. My own family has such a mixture of backgrounds. We are truly from the great American melting pot! If you do not know your family history, it is so very interesting to find out your roots. My painting for today is something that would bring a focal point to a collage of family photos in a group. The family "tree" as we call it, has a mystical history of it's own. We use that word and don't know the meaning behind it. I don't claim my painting holds any mystical powers, but is perhaps heart warming to you. Tap on the pictures in the gallery! There are many print options! Happy printing!

This month has been super busy with gardening. I hope you are enjoying fresh produce! Before the back to school rush I wanted to show you my huge project that had to fit in little time slots to get finished! Please look on my portfolio for lake mural and tell me what you think! To me, the most challenging thing is to make something super large so my latest challenge has been a wall mural and of course of my favorite place. I will let you guess the place...

So here is my finished flag for July! I might do more while in the month of July. There is so much to be grateful for in America the beautiful! Take time to stop and reflect on the freedoms that you have had in your life that many other countries do not allow. Be willing to pray and fight for those freedoms!

My extra hint for this painting, if you try it, your shadows often are blue. So you take whatever color you are using and add blue. Happy painting ??!

This painting would look fine printed on a t-shirt! If anyone would like that, I know how to order it.

Free extra question-- In whom do you trust? God's word says "let God be TRUE and every man a liar" If you are looking for truth today, it's right under your nose. Get in the Bible people-- It's TRUE!

I don't know about y'all , but this year's July 4th is a struggle. All I can say is that I can see visible attacks from the devil on our country and if their ever was a time to get on our knees and beg God for the freedom that we hold here it is right now! If you believe in God, if you have any faith at all; cry out to him for our country, for harmony, for freedom of speech, choice, to bear arms, freedom to live even recklessly as long as we live and let live. May you have a peaceful holiday and remember to give thanks for the battles fought for that peace!

Happy first day of Summer! And Happy Father's day tomorrow for all of you dads out there! It's funny how something that other's would deem as unpleasant can be MADE pleasant by what your memory attaches it too. My dad would always come home smelling like a milk house and diesel fuel because he was a milk truck driver. Maybe those aren't supposed to smell good, but to me they smell like dad and that's good because it meant daddy's home! My parents also made church and the Holy Bible a pleasant experience. Not because everyone at church is perfect, that's a given right? But because the the focus was not on others, but on God and what he is doing in our life. Anyways DADDY, here is my question. Do you make God and His word a pleasant experience for your family? Is God a good smell or memory? You have the power to make it good or bad. Speaking of good smells, I really like sunflowers and how they smell! So here is a sunflower for you! Happy Father's Day!

So how about it? Do you have your gardens in? I was going to finish with the late corn and be done! My kids and I have been dreaming of going to our favorite beach and swim....so refreshing! Which brings me to my third ever painting. I wanted to improve on the deep water painting making it bigger and focus on the sky. In the Bible the sky is "the heavens" so I quoted part of Psalm 19. "The heavens declare the glory of God!" So true don't you think? Whether it's the night sky or the morning pink or evening splendor, God paints the sky best. All I can do is give it my best try. So without further ado..."The Heavens Declare!"
