Self Portrait

I'm 56 and live in south central Pennsylvania. At this time, I enjoy drawing dinosaurs in their natural environment using a combination of charcoal, carbon, and graphite pencils on cold press illustration boards. My favorite dinosaurs include sauropods such as Diplodocus, Barosaurus, Amargasaurus, and Bajadasaurus. I've been fortunate to have my artwork published in 15 issues of the Prehistoric Times Magazine (#56 through #60, #62, #64 through #66, #71, #73, #153 through #156). I initially began as a self-taught artist in 2002; however, in an effort to improve my skill set, I enrolled in art classes with Don Phillips at the Harrisburg Art Association from 2003 through 2005. In addition, during that time, I was fortunate to receive anatomical/musculature assistance from established paleo artists, Todd Marshall, John Burris, and Scott Hartman. I took quite an extended break after 2005 but recently rediscovered my passion for drawing dinosaurs in late 2024. My first drawing in 2025 of the Gryposaurus herd was accepted for the EAVP (European Association of Veterbrate Paleontologists) Conference in Krakow, Poland. It was on display from June 30th to July 5th in 2025. In addition, my Bajadasaurus and Torvosaurus artwork were accepted and on display at The Paleo Art Show at the ALTR Gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota from August 7th through August 23rd, 2025. Currently, six of my pieces (Torvosaurus, Alamosaurus, Polucanthus, Allosaurus, Suchomimus, and Styracosaurus) are on display in the Virtual Paleo Art Gallery curated by Extinct Fine Arts. For January 2026, both my Gryposaurus and Polacanthus artwork were accepted and on display in the Black & White Art Exhibit at the HIVE Artspace in York, Pennsylvania. The exhibit ran for the entire month of January 2026. My goal is to continue to improve my artistic skill set while portraying dinosaurs in their natural environment.
