Self Portrait

I was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1946. I was the son of an architectural draftsman, and my mother was a very competent artist. I was influenced by my father's work and the images and the romance of the city, especially the city in winter.

I came to the visual arts through music. I am a classically trained musician and I attended the Eastman School of Music and the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.

I began painting in 1981 at the age of 35 and decided to paint exclusively in watercolor in 1984. I began to sell my work in galleries in 1985.

My biography is listed in Who"s Who in American Art. the Marquis Edition of Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in America.

In 2017, I was a recipient of Who's Who Lifetime Achievement Award Water Color Artist.

My works are found in the collections of Marriott Hotels, Wolverine Bronze, TCH Industries, Datum Inc, and the private collections of Steven Bechtel, Henry DuPont, Bernard Horowitz and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tarbell. My work is licensed by Applejack Art Partners, and my prints are distributed through affiliates such as Art Boom Ltd. Editions.
