Abandoned Cars

These two old cars were abandoned in the Panamint Valley of Death Valley National Park. It is unknown how old the cars are, but they most likely date to the 1930's or 1940's, when mining operations were happening nearby. Image copyright Cher Peterson. All rights reserved.

I am absolutely obsessed with "old cars," whether they are 'fixable' or 'fixed in place forever,' as these are. This is a marvelous photo and my Pic Of The Day.

Artist Reply: Yeah, and one of the cars seems to be missing its engine! We can replace that for you and get these jems running in no time... Thanks for your visit and very funny comment, Adrian. Cher
