Well I must say that the recent 4th of July Celebration at lake-side in the Texas Hill-Country was intense! Texans do not kid around when it comes to celebrating and that includes the shindig in honor of the Yankee nation to the North the U.S.A.. Even though dyed-in-the-wool Texans would much rather return the state to its original form of a Republic, it’s still considered polite to give a hoot for the old U.S. of A. on its birthday ~:0) One thing about fireworks displays at our lake in the hills is that everyone sends up big-time rockets – it’s quite exciting! – and very loud! – and you never know from where the next barrage will come. I shot this display using the ol’ Canon G11 – wide-angle (’bout 10mm) Bracketed the foto (-4, 0, +4) as it’s a night shot. Bathed the RAW images in a good dose of Photomatix Pro and pounded away before and after with the old family retainer – PhotoShop. Frankly, I prefer shooting at night b/c it’s cool and in the good-old-summertime that’s okay by me. One important thing to remember about night shooting is be where stuff is happening and always bring a friend – more fun that way – oh, 57 Ford Fairlane Hardtop Convertible ~:0) VivaChas!
