My Opinion

Being criticized or ignored is one of the most self-invalidating experiences, since our life revolves around social relationships and our self-concept. Being criticised or ignored by others makes us feel lonely and isolated. It hurts to be treated as someone inferior or unworthy. Everyone is of equal worth, everyone’s opinion has validation for them, and thus is deserving of respect. My Opinion Review by Nick Garrett It is, as always in the virtual space of a Jones picture, a cruel universe that has consolations. The viewer’s consolation for gazing at this vast, green allegory of fascism in all its forms from the conversational to the international, is it’s sheer beauty. Jones makes her ghastly world as beautiful as Francis Bacon made his. And that’s saying something. It comes as a Trojan Horse ie one initially sees an exercise in abstraction but with Jones, that would never be the case, and a picture that that is refreshing for the eye whilst jabbing the soul is the result. She could have almost have called it Menthol Fascism. Like the menthol breath of a bumptious businessman or politician hitting your face.
