The Lone Boatman

©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 04/25/13. 16x20" Acrylic, gouache, and sand on stretched canvas. The old boatman goes out at dawn to check his nets. If he's lucky he'll go back in and bring out a boat to haul in his catch. A lonely hard and solitary life that never ends. His family will find him one day in his boat adrift his life washed away like the changing tides. This work was originally inspired by a james Ensor painting but I didn't like his colors. So this is how it evolved with colorful Van Gogh colors. Thanks for looking, Seth.
