Milkweed Bramble. This shot was rather an epiphany for me - it was something I knew I could do, but could never seem to pull off. I had taken shots of these brambles in the field when still attached to the earth - nothing. I cut a few off, took them home, and promptly threw them on a bookshelf. After walking by them a million times, it was time to either do something with them or throw them out. On a rainy morning, I stuck one, then two together as though they were fighting or kissing, near a westward facing window. Still wasn't firing on all cylinders. I came back the next day (still raining), cropped the bulk of the 3" bramble out of the picture, and honed in on what you see. It's not Edward Weston and a bell pepper, but the influence is clearly there.
