This is a colored pencil painting that I did based on a photograph that I took earlier this summer while we were in Omaha, Nebraska. We were looking for a place to eat and found the Upstream Brewing Company. They also bake their own bread, as well as, brew their own beers and this display was the first thing that I saw. I knew that it was the perfect subject matter for a painting. It was an unintended still life that told a story containing humor. I took some artistic license and omitted one loaf of bread and in its place put one mug of beer. I entitled the piece "One Among the Loaves". It is done on Dura-lar polyester film using Faber-Castell polychromos, Marshall, and Dick Blick pencils. The size of the piece is 8 X 12 inches I hope that this piece relates to you as it did to me, even though you may not be hungry or thirsty!
