A muddy road through ranch country has since been obliterated by a freeway to ease traffic congestion from inland cities to the coast. The sky on one occasion was an interesting color, which inspired this piece. Since I do very little work "en plein air", I would sit and memorize the details of the scene before and during the painting process, which was completed in my bedroom "studio". Oil on stretched canvas, 11"x14"(framed); 1988.
