30 x 24 cm, oil on board, painted mainly on-site, last week 2017 on a late, warm, sunny autumn afternoon at Altreu, a bend in the river Aare, Switzerland, that hosts a stork colony. On this day the storks had left for the warmer south. Only the occasional swan and the sporadic quacking of ducks disturbed the stillness. Even the high flying passenger jets were barely audible. I used a limited palette of brnt.umber, cad, yellow med, magenta, ultramarine and cerulean blue and white. Greens were mixed.
