This was my first attempt with a new medium, acrylic, and it flew. I loved what I got then had a very ignorant idea, I had some clear gesso so I painted some over the pedals with several layers to build them up and let them dry over night. I came in the next day to a WHITE BLOB! That clear gesso is not clear. I had planned to to the highlights with oils but instead had to start over and never did get back what I had but did get a flower out of it. I textured the background......a lot. I highlighted it with colors.......painted over it with black....oh the mistakes I made doing this rose, lol. I learned more than one lesson from this. Thea, sorry, I loved your photo so and didn't do it justice but with the next one, the red one I think I did. In person it is ...........well I am never happy with my work, the red one I am, very happy with that one. Thanks for the use of your photo!
