Chow Chow

36" inch diameter saw Blade,set in a 4 foot long log(spruce) by Pieter Van Gelderen. This piece was a great challenge....The Chow Chow, the big tree next to him,and the cliff edge were Sculpted out of air dry clay,the log was carved using a Chain Saw, Hammer & chisels, and finally the whole thing was painted using acrylic's

Wow! When I think of mixed media, I never tho't of wood, clay and acrylics! I like that it is a sculptural piece, and can stand alone. Lovely work!
