Harbor Wave, 18

Different materials with various textures as well as assertive colors inspire me the most. I follow the potentials of the media, in an invigorating, gestural process, which reminds of free associations in psychotherapy and meditation. I see one point and the whole, almost at the same time, again and again. I release and I hold, add then subtract, paint then erase, again and again. I allow my instinct and emotion to flow, observing carefully how the elements of art communicate with each other. I form a composition that satisfies my aesthetic, emotional, and spiritual pursuits. What seems like a coincidence at the onset is a product of systematic observation of every little detail and stroke. Here, you may be able to tell that I've always been inspired by the colors and movement of the ocean as very liberating. This is a depiction of a harbor wave (tsunami) as it approaches the shoreline.
