Marie you are definately a Biologist ,& a scientist ,in this field,you are amazing,,,,I've seen this in many fruit trees over the years,this plant fungus actually attacks the tree,all you can do is cut of the effected area ,sometimes the whole tree,as it's actually spreading ,a pathogen,spreads like crazy,,it's a Cancer ,yes cancer in plant life.,as it's a fungus disease. wow what a find ,hopefully they can save this tree.,it's ugly to watch as it will take all the nuritionment from the tree,& it will die.Al Budarin 22 Dec 2020
