Sixties Redhead No. 2

A redhead from the “swingin’ sixties” with a beehive hairdo and a long cigarette holder, wearing a mustard yellow gown (designed by me). Very many people smoked in the 50’s and 60’s, before its harmful effects were known. The colors in the painting are the typical colors used in the sixties. The pink color was known then as “Mamie pink,” named after Mamie Eisenhower, who was the First Lady from 1953 to 1961 and favored this color. You can see this same color used in the tile of many bathrooms during this era.
