The 2020-2021 school year was an educational challenge for schools in America due to the coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the hard work and determined perseverance of educators, parents, students, other school staff, volunteers, school transportation, bus drivers -schools mostly made this school year a success due to hybrid learning, virtual learning, covid-19 vaccinations now available to ages 12 and up, and continuing updated CDC health/safety guidelines. Most school systems are planning to have their teachers and students return to in-person learning and wearing of face masks be optional when schools reopen for the 2021-2022 academic year. I used the Paint program on my computer to create this artwork showing students on a school bus on the last day of school on a June day waving goodbye to their teachers, and looking forward to hopefully being back in the classrooms for 5 days a week in-person learning come late August/early September 2021.
