The colorful Autumn season foliage is on the way out for 2021. The Winter season officially begins on December 21 in the USA. A whole lot of Autumn leaves have fallen from trees- leaving those trees mostly bare- and leaves are now covering grass areas and, on the ground ready to be raked and taken away. My 8 -year-old great-niece Trese recently went with me to volunteer raking leaves at a nearby park. After leaves were raked in a pile to be put in trash bags, my great-niece jumped in and rolled around in the pile that I had just finished raking. Soon other children in the park joined her playing in the now dismantled pile of leaves. I used the Paint program on my computer to create this artwork showing my great-niece jumping into a hilly pile of Autumn leaves. *Post-script- I supervised, along with other adult volunteers, the children- including my great-niece- raking the leaves back in a pile, putting them in trash bags to be hauled away.
