Inspired by a picture shared on Twitter that I found too beautiful not to immortalize. Still, I wanted to do something different for it. Watercolor was too bland; Alcohol Ink was vivid enough but too fluid. I thought about a simple sketch, but the colors are what made this piece so appealing in the first place! Oh! What to do? What to do? Soft Pastels. Wet, Soft Pastels! (That poor, lonely, and neglected box of pastels was so happy to play!) And, a lovely but finicky paper I've been experimenting with--TerraSlate paper. I'll write a (formal) review, soon. I love this paper, but you have to either move fast with the inks or keep a light touch with brushes or just one stroke with ink, especially pen/pencil.
