Another illustration for the novel Waiting for Pinkerton. Playing with contrasting charcoal and prismacolors, I've layered the two images, the woman and her reflection of herself as a child. The distracted expression on the woman indicating she escapes from her disappointing reality into these memories. The child reaching for the baloon symbolizes the dreams and ambitions we have as children, the unhappy woman symbolizes the failure to achieve these lofty goals.

This is a very revealing drawing. I like the creativity and imagination you put into your drawings. They actually can tell a story just looking at them. Wonderful work on the colors and details once again.
