This is an abstract of the turquoise that can be found all over Cripple Creek Colorado. When I live there as a kid we could find turquoise on the sides of the dirt roads especially after a rain or snow melt. Many people made jewelry to sell from what they found. Now there is a gigantic mine there and it is illegal to pick up the turquoise. The mountain range that was behind that beautiful, little town is now just miles of rock. Strip mining at its finest. I suppose it is just the way of the new world.
