Lost highways, midnight drives, mountain passes, unknown wild lands, asphalt pathways. Answer, “Yes.” when the call to adventure comes. You can make it all the way home 20 feet at a time. This series marks a long desired move into low-relief physicality. Playing with depth, layers, and textures in this way draws out these amazing cinematic moments, and draws of the beautiful effects of early animation techniques in which depth was created by actual layers of drawings arranged in layers. And the title . . . I get such a kick out of subtitle
