This painting comes from memories of when I lived a short time in Palmer Lake Colorado. The roads were dirt and there were a lot of small cliffs where the road was cut out from the rocks. I remember climbing to the top of one and looking out and seeing my home and the nearby creek. A long time ago. Colorful cliffs rise steeply under the silhouettes of sparse trees, with a soft, pastel sky creating a serene background. The interplay of orange, red, and blue tones gives the landscape a vibrant, dynamic feel.
