A Tyrannosaurus rex hunting on a starry, cloudless night in the Late Cretaceous. This artwork was completed in November 2025 on a 16"x20" cold press illustration board using a combination of charcoal and graphite pencils. In addition, charcoal powder and brushes were used for both the night sky and dust. The majority of the stars are based upon a real chart including several constellations (Little Dipper, Big Dipper, Cassiopeia, and Cepheus). The charcoal pencils used ranged from HB to 6B while the graphite pencils included 6H, 2H, H, 2B & 6B. This artwork was published in the Prehistoric Times Magazine Issue #156 in January 2026 and was accepted and will be on display at the "Cowboys, Dinosaurs, and Outer Space" Exhibit at the HIVE Artspace in York, PA from August 7th to August 29th, 2026.
