The isolation of being a creative writer working long hours can be brutal, but two-time Emmy and Writers Guild Award winner Scott Sickles leads an accomplished life. He is one of the staff writers of “General Hospital” and a playwright of numerous award-winning plays.  Though that is an impressive feat in itself, Scott’s penchant for bringing his own adult beverages to parties is legendary. I’ve been a lucky beneficiary at a Thanksgiving party we both attended one year. Like one of the 3 wise men bearing gifts, he had a bottle of the flagship Hendricks gin as well as the limited edition Orbium gin replete with tonic and a mandatory cucumber. Also, the inclusion of an assortment of fine wines was accompanied by Scott’s commanding wit, urbanity, and trenchant opinions. Rumor has it that Scott’s Emmy statues are functional as well as emblematic of his talents. Scott aspires to get his next Emmy serving as a doorstop.
