I started this project in October of 1996. I had just dropped out of my first year of college one week in and was feeling pretty rough. My mom, in a bid to raise my spirits, granted her permission to paint a mural on my bedroom door, in a 60 year old farmhouse. It started with Snow White and the 7 Dwarves in the middle, then bloomed over the years to include as many characters as possible. I worked on it until I moved away for college in 1997, working on it during visits home. I painted the Pocahontas crew while heavily pregnant with my firstborn in 1997-1998. I moved closer to home, and worked on it in between getting married and having two more children and everything that entails. When we moved 5 hours away, I would work on it on visits home with the grandkids. I finally finished it in March of 2018 while visiting home with my youngest, 16 years old herself at the time. It is my longest, largest and proudest piece to date.
