A small inland vessel prepares to enter the lock. These vessels, with an average cargo capacity of 500 tons, are now only used on small canals and are usually fifty years old or older. Current inland vessels of 3,000 tons and more are too large for these old canals, which are also gratefully used by pleasure craft for the sake of the romantic panorama. Image: 260 x 360 mm
