We are planning a trip to Prineville, Oregon. The trip was planned to look up where my wife’s mother and grandparents came from. Little was known about the history behind Walter and Nettie Cornett travels to Prineville. As it turned out George McIntire Cornett (Brenda’s great grand uncle) was known as the “Stagecoach King of Central Oregon” in the history books. The Cornett Stage & Stable Company. By earccly 1900s, Cornett business was substantial. Infrastructure covering roughly 500 miles. Owned approximately 350 horses and 100 vehicles. The main line was Shaniko - Prineville, critical 75 mile journey that took days, around 1902.
