The story and painting. The "Rosebud sled" is the iconic, mysterious object from the classic story; Citizen Kane, the final word spoken by newspaper magnate Charles Foster Kane,  before he dies, symbolizing his lost childhood innocence and the simple happiness he never recaptured.   Came to mind, some years ago. Sitting in a parking lot in Allen Park, Mi. A gentleman walked up to my car, calling; “here kitty!”. “Have you seen my Kitty?”. “No, come with me, I will show you my kitty”. So I follow this gentleman into a nearby quonset hut. Filled with all kinds of stuff, old and new, piled on a Cadillac car, and other fine cars.  In back is a cage, with a big full grown cougar cat. He gets in the cage with the cat. The cat hugs him and is licking him.    He tells me, this is the cougar used in the Lincoln Ford commercial.  He exits the cage, without out the cat.  Long story, let’s just leave it at the gentleman remained me of Charles Foster Kane. You can read the book.
